Get ready for classic Fender tone at full throttle when you plug into this hot-rodded tube amp that could only be called “Deluxe”. The Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III is a rugged and powerful 40-Watt 1×12 combo tube amplifier with a 12-inch Celestion G12P-80 speaker that’s more than capable of filling any sized room with its rich, harmonic sound whether fully cranked or turned down to a whisper. Based on the late ’50s “narrow panel” tweed amplifiers, but with modern selectable gain channels and a solid-state rectifier and spring reverb driver for increased versatility, this tube amp is ready to handle the most demanding musical styles. And at an easy to manage 45 pounds, this solidly built and nearly indestructible amp is perfect for carrying from gig to gig.
Three Flexible Gain Channels
It doesn’t matter how many different tones your playing demands, because the Hot Rod Deluxe III can do them all at the touch of a finger. Three selectable gain channels (Clean, Drive, and More Drive) are readily available on the control panel and the pedalboard-friendly footswitch for maximum tonal flexibility and ease of use. Since the Hot Rod Deluxe III is brought to life by two 6L6s in the power section and three 12AX7s in the preamp, you get massive headroom and bell-like tones in the Clean channel, and anything from a grungy crunch to insane overdrive in the Drive and More Drive channel. And for even more tonal variations, Fender has added a “Bright” switch that works as a high-pass filter to add crystalline treble to any of the three channels.
Lush and spacious Fender spring reverb is yours thanks to the modern solid state spring reverb driver found in the Hot Rod Deluxe III. From outer space quakes to authentic surf-rock shimmer, the depth and variety of reverb sounds possible with the Hot Rod Deluxe III is limited only by your spatial imagination. Fender has also included a highly efficient effects loop that makes it easy to connect your pedalboard or outboard effects to the Hot Rod Deluxe III without losing power or adding unwanted noise. And, with the powerful tube section providing enormous headroom, this amp can open up the sound of your effects pedals for greater definition and clarity.
